All about me, me and more me :-D
Just watched a couple of minutes of the latest version of KBC hosted by Shahrukh Khan. Is it only me who feels that he tries just too hard to emulate and outright copy Amitabh Bachhan. While I am not a fan of KBC I do think that Amitabh changed the landscape of television show hosting with his brilliant and touching hosting of the show!
Now Shahrukh wants to emulate that popularity and in that trial, is literally imitating Amitabh’s style but quite ineffectively
Yesterday about 7 class-mates from my high school decided to meetup. I was the one who called in all the people and got them to come. Thankfully so many showed up (more than I had expected to turn up)
It turned out to be a very good time as we reminisced school times, caught up with each others and generally chatted and joked about how things used to be in school.
Took a couple of pics of everyone there:
So I had a blast on new years.. Allwin, Sujit, my bro Rish and your’s truly had gone to Goa for the new years celebration. Goa, considered to be the best party spot for new years was on the horizon for a trip for me for quite sometime. So this time, I decided to “Just do it” ;)
Pulled in Al and Sujit and my bro of course was always ready. We departed on the 29th evening and arrived in Goa on the 30th. Met up with my brother in law who stays there and then to his home for an early lunch cum breakfast. From there, we headed out to the Baga beach, one of the most popular beaches in Goa. We spent the day there walking along the beach (having decided not to get into the water on that day but the next) and just watching the huge crowd on the beach. Also climbed up a narrow rocky path to a couple of enclosed beaches.
From Baga, we went for dinner after which we walked to another beach which was within the city of Panjim, Miramar. I was quite tired by then and my leg, having been hurt by a sharp rock, was paining quite badly. So I decided to skip the beach and instead sat in a coffee shop.
From Miramar, we went to one of the many casinos in Goa since the others wanted to check out and experience the casino.
The next day, we visited the Church of St. Patrick Xavier and then went to the Fort Aguada beach. It was here that we entered the sea. And what fun it was. So much that we just did not want to come out. Had it not been for the new years party, I’m pretty sure none of us would have come out of the sea.
From the beach, we went to our hotel for a quick shower and change of clothes and then were on our way back to go for the party. We planned to visit “On the Rocks” ;) a new disc in town on the Baga beach. And what a party it was. A whole lot of fun. Music, booze, good food and dancing! Rish managed to get wasted after having a little too much to drink :D
We finally returned from the party at 4 am in the morning (or atleast I think it was around then)
On our final day in Goa(1st), Rish and me stayed at my bro in laws house since Rish was still suffering from the effect of the previous night’s partying.. Al and Sujit decided to roam around and explore Goa.
We met back in the evening for our return journey to Bangalore..

I just finished watching Lord of War and found it a very powerful movie. Told from the perspective of a gun runner and how he lived his life, it gives a very nice insight into how a criminal (which is subjective but that’s another topic) thinks and rationalizes his actions to himself.
Anyway, so in the movie, the character played by Nicholas Cage, Yuri, always maintains “This is not my/our fight” while selling arms, arms which cause so much of death all over the world.
So my question is, who is to blame for all those deaths? Of course those who actually use the weapons are definitely to be blamed! But are those who sell the weapons to be blamed too? And by extension then, those who manufacture the weapons? What about the people who create an environment, the need for weapons which triggers the manufacture, sale and ultimately use of weapons? And by weapons I mean from the smallest gun to the largest bombs, missiles etc..
Ps. Yes I know it’s late but sleep comes not :(
A new study claims that good mood and cheerfulness prevents or atleast decreases the likelihood of contracting cold.
I guess that must explain why my cold wont go away :(

Blogging has been too very sporadic of late.. I have lot’s to say but then decide on second thoughts not to.
Anyway, I have been on two trips in the space of two weeks which is like huge for me. Planned and confirmed another trip/mini-vacation for new years.
Previous trip was to Ranchi, my sister’s place for a function.. Returned to Bangalore on Sunday.
Lot’s of other things happening on the personal front including decisions about my MBA. But all that for later since no concrete decision have been made.
I think I’m gonna come down with a fever..
I found this a very nice video. Moving for some reason since it shows people in a variety of emotions, one of the most important aspects which separates us from animals.

Such a paradox. I was just reading something on relationships among people – friends, spouses, any close relationship between two people and realized that establishing trust can be so paradoxical.
On any matter, if one person does not trust the other initially, how can s/he trust the other’s answer or attempts to gain trust! :-/
