Bangalore Bloggers Meet And Bangalore BarCamp 4

Bangalore Bloggers Meet is happening for the first time this month. It’s on the 21st of July at BrewHaHa near Jyothi Nivas College, Koramangala. I’ll be there. All those who read this, please do come. And comment here so that I know who to expect :)

Also happening later this month is the Bangalore BarCamp at IIM Bangalore. It’s on the 28th and 29th of July.
There are a lot of collectives and a lot of bloggers should be participating. I’ll hopefully be there too. Register and find more information at the BarCamp Wiki. BarCamp has a lot of Geek oriented Collectives but a few are non-geeky ones too (which is what I’m going to be attending mostly.. Though the Internet Collective and BangAJAX collective is tempting as well..) These will be my first ever bloggers meet and I hope this will be a good experience.

GPL is too restrictive

I want to base a theme on Sandbox but unfortunately it is based on GPL which I think is too restrictive. I would rather have it in LGPL/MIT/AFL (Even MPL) instead which are more open and non-restrictive.

Sigh.. I’ll have to look for another theme though I doubt any will match the awesome Sandbox. I wish Scott would provide dual licensing.

My favorite phone of all time, my Nokia 3660 died the day before yesterday, of old age. The phone in my opinion was fantastic with only two shortcomings in my opinion. No support of MP3 and slow processor.

Anyway, as a result of the death, I have lost all my contacts, schedules and the email addresses as well as a variety of notes to self. And of course, much data which I don’t remember is there on the phone and is gone!

Thankfully most of my messages are saved on the memory card so they are safe (though I am not sure how to retrieve them)

Anyway, if any of you have my phone number, or wish to keep contact, please email, im or txt me your phone number.

Looking for a phone

I’m looking to get myself a new cell phone since the current Nokia 6280 I have is giving me a few problems. I’m not looking for anything fancy (no “music” phones or “camera” phones) but it should work well, have stable software AND good gaming capabilities would be a plus ;)

Any suggestions? I’m thinking of Sony Ericsson W810i or 850i. No idea about the latest Nokia phones which are good. Budget of about 10-12K INR. Maybe VRS can get me one of the latest models cheap from Finland ;)

Hosting switch

I will be switching my hosting from the current account to an account I am sharing with Chandrahasa. Things might be screwy and inaccessible for a while but should be back online within a day or max two.

Update: Things back to normal. The DNS propagation took more time than expected but everything should be working fine now..
