About blogging in general
ok. I have not been able to obtain a backup of the database. I am still gonna install pixelpost on the same DB anyway.
I only hope is that the content survives and I still have the blog as it is
Voila.. The attempt worked.*phew* I now have a working photo blog though I will not give out the link as yet since there are no photos there yet ;-) (There _is_ a clue in this post abt what it is called ;-) )
Will do once I put a few up :-D
Ok.. Something is reaaaaalllly wrong with my time since plugin. It shows the time since the entry was posted for the previous one as -1 yr and 12 months. Just hover over it and have a good laugh.
I have been breaking my head over it as to why it does not work but to no avail X-( It is really frustrating and I’ll go to sleep over this
Ok.. I am ready to take the risk cos backing up the DB will take some time cos it takes a lot of time to communicate with the hoster.
Another problem now. I need a name for my photoblog. I cant think of any and none of my friends can…
Someone suggest one ASAP :?:
I am thinking of starting a photoblog too. I think I will use a photoblog suite called PixelPost, considered one of the best photoblog tools. Only trouble is, it requires a DB and I am not sure I want to risk using the WP(WordPress), that is my current blog’s DB just in the case that PixelPost decides it should be cleaned of all data and started afresh.
I tried making a backup of the DB but could not get /phpmyadmin/ to get to work. I even sent a support request to my hosting providers Symonds.Net and he tried to be helpful but only told me what I already know. So I sent him a mail asking him to do the backup and send it to me via e-mail. He is yet to respond but I guess that is due to it probably being night in the US where I assume they are located. I hope he replies by tomorrow so I can start photo-blogging :-D
An update to WordPresss.. Wheeee!
I love it when a new update is announced..It means more bug-fixes and more features. And the new version of WP does not disappoint. It has quite a few bug-fixes and changes. The most immediate noticeable change for me was the colorisation of the activated plugins as I activated them one by one after the upgrade. Makes a lot more easier to identify which are in use and which are lying around unused :-D
Apart from that, I managed to install a lot of cool plugins and update my blog’s look and feel quite a bit. One of the most noticeable changes is the weather updates of my city and an option to allow the viewer to choose a theme to suit to their liking.
Other subtle changes is a date on-hover time modified display (Hover over the date of the entry posting to see) and a insta-comment preview.
I have quite a bit of other plugins lined up too. Will get them online in the next two days or so ;-)
Have been trying to install and figure out the installation routing for a couple of plugins in wordpress. Have not been able to configure any except one which is pretty simple.
A complete waste and more painfully, irritating, frustrating and pissing off.
Cant get any more emotions into a single line ;-)
Well tomorrow is another day to try :-)
Just started my new blog, WordPress.
Looks like a neat tool. Hopefully I should blog more often now ;)
